SUMMARY:Eternal Hush\, Performance
DESCRIPTION:Location: MACA\, 18:30 – 19:15 \nBy: Safa Mirror (she/her)\nhttps://www.instagram.com/safamirror \nA performative translation of Rumi ghazal number 636 \nEternal Hush\, is a performative translation of Rumi’s poetic accounts of his experience with fanā\, or death. \nFanā\, or death\, is one of the key concepts in Sufism. It indicates the process of losing one’s self\, identity\, possessions\, belongings\, and ideologies\, for the soul to ascend this earthly realm\, in hopes of reaching unity with the divine. As this state of oneness is inherently ineffable\, surpassing all linguistic or intellectual forms\, it has been described by Sufi poets as the silence in death. \nSafa Mirror (she/her) is a trans-disciplinary artist\, researcher\, and Tarologist\, exploring the intersections of magick and mysticism. She dedicates her research to analysing\, deconstructing\, and contextualising Middle-Eastern Mystical traditions and Western Esoteric practices. As an artist\, Safa utilises her talents to decipher\, translate and perform the mystical Persian poetry of Rumi and Hafez. As the resident Tarologist at @blackmoonbotanica.nl\, Safa manifests her divinatory powers\, offering insight from both Eastern and Western wisdoms. \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Warm-up workshop. My death\, their death: converse\,reflect\,prepare.
DESCRIPTION:Location: Treehouse NDSM\, 15:30-17:00 \nBy: Alejandra Nettel (she/her) \nhttps://alejandranettel.com \nA workshop made for everyone who wants to start talking\, thinking\, and taking action about their own death and help others to talk about it and prepare for the death. (Yes\, for you and your family\, including children from seven years and older).\nWhere to start? What are the main points to consider? It is about yourself. \n“My death\, their death” is about yourself and your beloved ones; this is a unique opportunity to start opening the conversation with your children and family\, to take the time for yourself to reflect on your own death\, and to invite others to the process. \nIn this interactive workshop\, Alejandra will converse openly and reflect with you about your death; you will be able to ask questions you may never want to ask anyone else and start preparing for your death. \nThe taboo of not talking or thinking about our death has been the source of many unpleasant family moments; if you care about your loved ones\, take a deep breath and dare to think about your last moments on this earth. \nAt the end of the workshop\, you will have a clear idea of where to start and receive a guide to prepare for your death with pleasure and openness. \nAlejandra Nettel has spent over a decade asking people from different backgrounds: What is dead for you? Evolving in a series of videos responding to “the question.” If you want to be part of this ongoing project\, at the end of the workshop\, you will have the opportunity to answer “the question” and be part of the project. \n  \nAlejandra Nettel is a Mexican/Dutch artist and motivational speaker whose work deals with death and Buddhism. Working as a public and radio speaker\, as an actress\, and a photographer\, Nettel’s diverse and rich background in performing arts\, media\, and visual communication all contribute to her skill as a presenter. In her work\, she wants to empower her clients to express themselves with confidence\, charisma\, and creativity. The workshop at D&R Festival will help to provide people with practical insights and guidance on dealing with death\, as she encourages participants to approach the topic through the lens of mindfulness.

SUMMARY:Warm-up workshop. Find your voice to write from Grief\, Creative Writing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Location: Treehouse NDSM\, 14:00-16:00 \nBy: Kevin Groen (Ahn Kwang Soo) \nhttps://www.instagram.com/word.magician/ \nArt\, and specifically poetry\, can be powerful in helping us make sense of our emotions. Whether raw\, uncensored\, poetic\, vulnerable\, angry\, direct\, unapologetic\, rhyming\, non-sensical\, writing is a tool that can help us navigate experiences like grief. \nDuring this workshop you get to dive deeper into your own grief\, and through writing make sense of it\, sit with it\, confront it\, and move with it. This workshop is for everyone\, no writing experience needed. \n  \nKevin is a behavioural change expert and spoken word artist who doesn’t shy away from exploring the uncomfortable. As an adopted South Korean boy growing up in The Netherlands ‘identity’ has always been an important question throughout his life that only led to more questions. Today he uses his voice to help his clients change their behaviours\, and confront audiences with prejudices and unconscious biases you didn’t even know you had.
